IAAF Ratifies Jepkosgei's World 10-Kilometer Record From September

By Adam Kopet

The IAAF announced Wednesday that Joyciline Jepkosgei's performance at the Sept. 9 Prague Grand Prix has been ratified as the world 10-kilometer record.

Jepkosgei became the first woman to break 30:00 for 10 kilometers on the roads. Her finishing time of 29:43 broke her own record (30:04) she had set en route to her world record win at April's Prague Half Marathon.

Jepkosgei has since lowered her half marathon world record, running 1:04:51 in Valencia, Spain, but it has not yet been ratified by the IAAF.
